The Idea

The first tender shoot of something that grows

A sprig is a small, new beginning, and that’s how we think about early childhood. The right space, the right objects, made simply and well, give little ones room to grow into themselves.

So we’re making the pieces we wished existed: playhouses, kitchens, and simple, independence-building furniture that’s beautiful enough to live in your home and built to survive years of real play.

We’re a small family brand getting ready to plant our first collection. Join the founding families and help it take root.

Our Story

Made the slow way, because that’s how we live

We’re Jakob and Lindsey, and we build Sprigby from an off-grid homestead in Liberty, Kentucky: solar on the roof, rainwater in the cistern, a wood stove doing the heating, and a flock of chickens thoroughly unimpressed by all of it. Slow, made-by-hand, and built-to-last aren’t brand ideas we reached for. They’re just how we live.

Out here, we’ve come to know the Amish and Mennonite craftsmen whose work has always been the opposite of disposable: solid wood, joined by hand, made to outlast the child it was built for. Sprigby grew out of those friendships and that standard. Every piece is made by skilled Amish woodworkers, the slow way, the way we’d want it for our own kids.

We started Sprigby because we couldn’t find play furniture that was truly well-made and actually looked at home in a house we love, so we decided to make it ourselves. Heirloom pieces, meant to be grown into, grown past, and handed down. A small, woman-owned family brand, just planting its first collection. We’re glad you’re here for the beginning.
